HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 20 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Luis Orta, whom United World Wrestling elected as 2023 Greco-Roman Wrestler of the Year.
In his message, the Head of State thanked the athlete for making him feel proud to be his compatriot.
Among his achievements, Orta (67 kg) tallied 86,400 points, resulting from his gold medals at the Central Caribbean Games in San Salvador and the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, as well as in the Zagreb Open and the Pan Am Championships.
The also Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion crowned his impressive record with the title in the World Championships held in Serbia in September.
