
HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) The Cuban duos Jorge Luis Alayo-Noslen Diaz and Amanda Armenteros-Maykeline Drik advanced to the semifinals of the U23 tournament of the North, Central America and Caribbean (Norceca) circuit, by achieving their fourth successes, in Juan Dolio beach, Dominican Republic.
According to the website www.norceca.net, Alayo and Diaz defeated the Dominican duo of Maldonado-Wilmore 2-0 in the quarterfinals, with easy scores of 21-5 and 21-6, and today they will face the Canadian duo of Gannett-Abrams in the semis.
A similar result was achieved in the quarterfinals by the female duo of Amanda and Maykeline, who beat the Salvadoran couple 2-0 (21-19 and 21-19), and will face the Canadian duo of Pantovic-Vermette as their next opponents.
Thursday will be the semifinals and finals, as well as the round of positions from the fifth to the last place.
