HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (ACN) Cuban canoeist Yarisleidis Cirilo Dubois was selected today the best female athlete of 2023 by AIPS America, in light of her outstanding results in this year’s competitions.
Cirilo Dubois was first in the world championships held in Duisburg, Germany, and became the first world champion in the history of Cuban women canoeists.
Likewise, the 21-year-old athlete native of the municipality of Baracoa also won the 24th Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador and the 19th Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile in 2023.
The Executive Committee of the association of American sports journalists congratulated the winners and the associations that submitted the nominations.
