Cuban mixed paraweightlifting team finishes fourth in Santiago de Chile 2023



HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) Cuban paraweightlifting team finished today in fourth place in the mixed team tournament, losing in the discussion of the bronze medal to Brazil, on the closing day of this sport at the 7th Parapan American Games of Santiago de Chile 2023, held at the Chimkowe Gymnasium.

According to the official site of the Games, Cuba's team 2, integrated by Yaime Bongo, Pablo Rodriguez and Jesus Enrique Cuevas achieved 336.4 kilograms (kg) by 352.8 kg the Brazilians.

Bongo, Rodriguez and Cuevas advanced to the fight for the bronze medal after losing 335.9 kg to 339.1 kg in the semifinal against Colombia 1.

Chile 1 concluded with the gold medal, defeating 355.4 kg by 117.9 kg Colombia 1.

With these results, Cuba finished eighth, with two silver and two bronze medals, in the country medal list, which was led by Brazil (7-4-6), followed by Chile (4-2-1) and Colombia (3-4-2).

Venezuela (1-0-1), El Salvador (1-0-0) and the United States (1-0-0) finished next with titles, while Mexico (0-3-2) ranked seventh, also ahead of Cuba (0-2-2), which was better than Ecuador (0-1-1), owner of the ninth place.
