SANTIAGO DE CHILE, Oct 24 (ACN) Cubans Anisley Garcia and Prisis Ruiz continued their excellent performance at the 19th Pan American Games by advancing today to the finals of diving from the 3-meter springboard in Santiago de Chile.
Garcia totaled 249.20 points with her five jumps and Ruiz, 247.40, valid for seventh and eighth place, respectively, in the preliminary ranking, led by Mexico's Arantxa Chavez (329.25).
Although the Cubans have not won a medal, they have reached the finals of all the events of their sport.
Garcia finished eighth in the 10-meter platform and fourth in the same height but in duet with Ruiz, in addition, Garcia finished seventh in the one-meter springboard, where Ruiz was tenth.
After tonight's final in the 3-meter springboard, in the synchronized duet, they will participate tomorrow in the medal discussion.
