HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 16 (ACN) Cubans Andy Maqueira and Alejandro Martinez finished their performance in the U13 and U11 Pan American Table Tennis Championships in Colombia, where they won silver and bronze medals.
After obtaining four victories each in the individual modality, the Cubans fell but Martinez won bronze in the competition that ended in the last hours in the city of Mosquera.
Both were runners-up in the team tournament, where they only lost the game for the gold, against the Colombia A team, which they had beaten on Tuesday, in Cuba's first match, according to ITTF Americas statistics.
In the doubles event, the Cubans won bronze by advancing to the semifinals, where they lost 1-3 to the more experienced Brazilian duo, world medalists.
The undefeated performance in the doubles, team and individual events in the category of "mini-cadet boys", shows the high technical and physical level of the two Cuban competitors.
