HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 7 (ACN) Cuban tennis players failed to move up in the Davis Cup organization chart, finishing seventh and penultimate in Group 4 of the Americas, where they lost all the games in the A key.
On Sunday in Trinidad and Tobago, on hard surface, Cuba lost 0-3 to Guatemala and 1-2 to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Antigua and Barbuda.
In the section B, which had five teams, Haiti occupied the last place, with three defeats and one victory, according to the statistics on the Davis Cup website.
Cuba avoided finishing at the bottom of the table with a 2-1 win over Haiti in the 7th place match. Guatemala and Puerto Rico, undefeated, won the advancement quotas to Group III for 2024.
