Venezuela at Cuba’s International Sports Fair

 

Havana, July 31 (ACN) Venezuela’s general director for Sports Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Pablo Alfonso Yustiz is in Cuba to take part at the First International Sports Fair underway since August 1st at Havana’s Ciudad Deportiva Sports Complex.

Alfonso is accompanied by his country’s general director of Physical Education and Sports Alejandro Herrera.

The two officials were welcomed at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport on Monday by Ariel Sainz, vice-president of Cuba’s Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Institute and by Marco Antonio Tuerra, official with the Venezuelan embassy here.

Alfonso told reporters that they were looking forwards to the event in Havana and stressed that Cuba and Venezuela have shared very close relations over the past years.

He recalled that Commander Hugo Chavez had said that the road to follow was that one towards brotherhood and friendship and thanks to Cuba they came to show Venezuela’s results in sports.

Alfonso in Particular praised the Cuba-Venezuela bilateral accord since he graduated from the Cuban Higher Physical Culture Institute in eastern Santiago de Cuba province.

The First International Sports Fair is running till August 6 with the participation of 110 companies from 13 countries; the event promotes business deals in the sports sector.
