HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 30 (ACN) Cuban volleyball will find it difficult to qualify for Paris 2024 in the pre-Olympic tournament to be held from September 30 to October 8 in Brazil, Japan and China.
Cuba, twelfth in the world ranking, will play in Brazil as one of Pool A’s eight teams—the host, Italy, Iran, Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic and Qatar. The top two teams in each of the six pools will get the ticket to the 2024 Olympics, except France, whose status as host nation gives it right of way for the Games.
The rest of the places will be assigned to the top five teams in the world ranking following the 2024 Volleyball Nations League, in which Cuba was 13th in pool play with three wins and nine losses.
