HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 17 (ACN) Cubans Anisley Garcia and Prisis Ruiz placed 15th today in synchronized diving from the three-meter springboard at the 20th World Aquatic Sports Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.
Garcia and Ruiz totaled 232.80 points, in a preliminary with 18 pairs, and were 94.62 points behind the Chinese duo of Yani Chang and Yiwei Chen, who topped the qualifying round and today became champions.
For Cuba, Monday Gabriela Alpajon obtained a score of 107.2771 in solo free in artistic swimming, placed 28th among 29 contestants, led by Japan's Yukiko Inui with 253.1853, favorite to win Wednesday's final.
Also competing today will be Garcia, in eliminations in 10-meter platform diving, and Alpajon and Dayaris Varona in the duet free routines.
