Cuban discus thrower third in Montreuil

HAVANA, Cuba, May 31 (ACN) Cuban discus runner Silinda Morales finished third at the international athletics meeting of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver category held in Montreuil, France.

Morales, champion of the 5th ALBA Games hosted by Venezuela in April and whose personal best is 63.17 m, reached 61.39 m—a result close to her best throw of the season—in a competition won by the French Melina Robert-Michon (65.49 m), followed by the Brazilian Izabela Da Silva (62.61 m).

The meeting of Montreuil was a good opportunity for the 22-year-old Cuban athlete to prepare for the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, scheduled to take place from June 23 to July 8.
