HAVANA, Cuba, May 22 (ACN) Leyanis Perez and Liadagmis Povea performed at a high level in the women's triple jump, during the closing of the 2023 Cuba Cup of Athletics, a competition that as is traditional was held at the Pan American Stadium, in Havana, Cuba.

Perez, who was fourth at the World Championships in Eugene, United States, last year, jumped 14.80 meters (m) to win the event and achieve a personal best.

The 21-year-old girl surpassed the 14.70m reached at the World Championships in the United States, thus continuing to show signs of her competitive progression.

Meanwhile, Povea, owner of the fifth Olympic place in Tokyo 2020 and bronze medalist at the Pan American Games in Lima 2019, came in second place with 14.73 m.

Both triple jumpers, with very good performances in the indoor winter tour, will leave in a few days for Europe to compete in different events, including the Diamond League.
