HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) The Cuban men's junior team is still undefeated in the qualifiers for the World Handball Championships currently held in Mexico City.
After its debut Monday with an easy 32-19 victory over Martinique, Team Cuba defeated the Mexicans 38-31 on Tuesday, their second victory in Group B, and will be opposite Puerto Rico today in the closing match of the preliminary phase.
With this result, Cuba leads its group with a 2-0 balance, followed by Mexico and Martinique, both with one win and one loss. In group A, the United States and Guadeloupe are 1-0, with Greenland (0-2) at the bottom of the table.
This competition gives to places for the World Championships and one for the Intercontinental tournament, both scheduled for next year.
