HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (ACN) Cuban Olfides Saez finished sixth in the 89 kilograms (kg) bodyweight division at the World Weightlifting Championships in Colombia, held December 5-16.
Saez registered 161, 201 and 362 kg in snatch, rebound and total, respectively, according to the results table on the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation.
The other Cuban in the category, Ariolvis Begue, finished tenth with 157, 195 and 352 kg, among 34 contenders.
Arley Calderon, the first to compete for Cuba, finished eleventh overall in the 61 kg category.
The Cuban performance will be completed by Ayamey Medina, in group A of the 81 kg division, in a competition of 537 weightlifters from 93 countries.
