HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 17 (ACN) The Cuban sailors will be the first of the Island’s 14-athlete delegation to compete in the 1st Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games, to be held in Santa Marta, Colombia, on November 19 to 26.
The team is made up of six athletes, four men and two women, in five of the 10 disciplines convened by the organizers, who expect the presence of representatives from 26 countries.
According to the program of the event, a qualifier for the I World Games of that kind in 2023, the sailing competition will take place from the 20th to the 23rd, followed by beach volleyball (23-26) and open water swimming (24-26).
Team Cuba’s goals are to get the ticket for the 2023 tournament and prepare for next year’s events, namely the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, and the ALBA Games in Venezuela.
