HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 9 (ACN) Cuban Laina Perez finished second today in the 25m pistol event of the Pan American Shooting Championships held in Lima, Peru.
Perez, who won the gold in that event in the mixed team modality of the 10m air pistol with 15 points together with her partner Jorge Grau, was only outmatched by the American Katelyn Morgan’s 22-point score.
The Cuban had notched up two gold medals in the continental competition of 2019, whereas she finished 46th in the recent world championships of Cairo, Egypt.
So far, Cuba has won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in this tournament, a qualifier for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
