Cuban rhythmic gymnasts achieved their goals in Japan



HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 24 (ACN) Although they did not reach the finals, the Cuban women fulfilled their preparatory goals at the Aeon Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Tokyo, where they were invited by the International Gymnastics Federation.

Gretel Mendoza and Thalia Torres competed in the senior category and Isabella Rojas in the youth division, reported Jit, an institutional publication of Cuban sports.

The best individual achievement for Cuba came from Rojas, who placed eighth in the U-15 category.

The Cuban obtained 23,450 points in hoop, 23,300 in ball, 23,850 in clubs and 20,750 in ribbon and, in the maximum accumulators competition, she totaled 91,350 units.

For Cuban rhythmic gymnastics, medalist in the Central American and Caribbean Games of 2018 and the Pan American Games of 2019, it was a very important moment in the beginning of the road to the multiple competitions of San Salvador and Santiago de Chile 2023.
