HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 19 (ACN) Cuban freestyle wrestlers Reineri Andreu (57 kg) and Reineri Salas (125 kg) will compete in the Dmitry Korkin Senior international tournament, to be held in Yakutsk, Russia, on October 26 to 30.
In September, both athletes participated in the World Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia, where Andreu—U23 world champion in Budapest, Hungary, three years ago—came close to winning a medal, but lost 1-7 in the match for third place to the local Stevan Andria Micic, second in the 2019 European Games.
As for Salas, third in Tokyo 2020 in the 97 kg division, and whose record also includes two silver medals in universal competitions, lost his first fight 2-4 to the Canadian Amarveer Dhesi in the qualifying round.
