HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 7 (ACN) Cuban Alfredo Despaigne hit today his ninth home run of the season in four visits to the plate and scored an RBI in the SoftBank Falcons' 3-4 loss to the Rakuten Eagles in Japanese professional baseball.
The Cuban slugger, who has five games on end with at least one RBI, saw his batting average drop to 276 but increased to 29 the number of teammates he has brought to the plate.
Despaigne's homer was the only single produced by Cubans playing in Japan, as they all went 1-to-15 on a very unfortunate Wednesday.
On the other hand, none of the Cuban pitchers hired by a Japanese team saw action in today’s games.
