HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 13 (ACN) The Caribbean women's basketball tournament begins today in this city with the teams of Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Cuba.
The two quintets that make it to the final will get the tickets to play in the FIBA Centrobasket competition, which in turn will be the qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador, in 2023.
Dalia Henry, president of the Cuban Basketball Federation, explained that the Centrobasket, to be held in November on a date and place yet to be established, will qualify in turn seven teams—plus the host country—for the 2023 Central Caribbean games.
