HAVANA, Cuba, May 31 (ACN) Cuban long jumper Maikel Masso and Roxana Gomez will compete today at the 61st edition of the traditional athletics meeting Golden Spike of Ostrava, in the Czech Republic.
With gold category of the World Athletics Continental Tour, both athletes from Cuba will be looking for a good result after participating in the Ibero-American Championship held in Alicante, Spain, last 22nd, where both were medalists.
In the case of Masso, winner of the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, he finished second in the long jump by reaching 8.03 meters in his fifth attempt.
Gomez, a finalist in the summer event in the Japanese capital, finished bronze in the 400 meters flat (m/p) with a time of 51.03 seconds, which was his best time this season.
