HAVANA, Cuba, May 16 (ACN) The Cuban women's team has already defined two of the three judokas who will participate at the First Caribbean Games, scheduled to be held June 30 to July 4 in Guadeloupe.
While the men's team already has the three who will attend the multisport event, the technical team led by Yordanis Arencibia is waiting for the results of a gala or control match to decide who will make the grade in the 57 kilograms (kg) for the event.
Thalia Nariño (+78 kg) and Idelannis Gomez (70 kg), gold and silver medalists in Cali-Valle, in that order, are already assured.
The organizers of the 1st Caribbean Games will call seven sports: judo (m and f), athletics (my f), 3x3 basketball (m and f), swimming (m and f) -including open water-, indoor soccer (m), netball (f) and cycling (m and f) -track and running-.
As announced, Cuba will be with a delegation of around 70 athletes -mainly young people-, with the majority in athletics and the absence in netball.
