HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 26 (ACN) Cubans Jose Ramon Pelier and Reinier Carrera won gold and silver medals today in the single-seater canoe (C-1) and single-seater kayak (K-1), at 1,000-meter distances, in the canoeing tournament of the 2021 Junior Pan American Games, held at Lake Calima El Darien-Valley.
According to the website of the multisport event, Pelier and Carrera entered first and second at the finish line of the A finals of their respective modalities.
In the C-1, the runner-up was Mexican Gustavo Adrian, while the bronze was won by Brazilian Felipe Vinicius Santana.
Argentine Valentin Rossi won the gold medal in the K-1, while Mexico's Juan Pablo Rodriguez achieved the bronze medal.
Carrera and Pelier advanced to the A finals on Thursday as leaders of their respective qualifying events.
