HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 17 (ACN) Cuban canoeists Jose Ramon Pelier, Yarisleidis Cirilo and Katherin Nuevo advanced today to the A finals of the World Canoe Championships in their respective categories, held until next Sunday in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Pelier advanced to the medal discussion in the single-seater (C-1) at 500 meters, by crossing the finish line in third place while Cirilo also came in third in the C-1 at 200 meters, and first in the two-seater (C-2) at 200 meters along with Nuevo.
Meanwhile, Serguei Torres and Fernando Dayan Jorge advanced to this afternoon's semifinals in the 500-meter C-2, finishing in seventh place.
