Jasiel Rivero and his club to first play-off match in the Spanish basketball league



HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 1 (ACN) Cuban Jasiel Rivero and his club Hereda San Pablo Burgos will have their first play-off match today against Lenovo Tenerife, in the beginning of the quarterfinals of the ACB basketball league in Spain, one of the strongest in the world.

The team from Burgos, which finished sixth in the standings with 22 wins and 14 losses, will be the visitors in that game and Lenovo, third in the regular phase with 27 wins and nine losses, will try to take advantage of its local condition in a best-of-three series.

For the Burgos team, one of the key pieces will be Rivero, who finished as the second best Latin American player in the Basketball Champion League, only behind Brazilian Marcelinho Huertas, scoring 85 points in the list of the best Latin American players, surpassed by Huertas (135).

In order for his good performance to be taken into account, the Cuban player was the most outstanding player on dates 10, 11 and 16, in the last one with his top rating with 37 credits, the third highest only behind Brazilians Leo Meindl (Urbas Fuenlabrada) and Vitor Benite, captain of the team from Burgos, with 44 and 43, respectively.


He also ranked 21st among the best scorers with an average of 12.4 per game, 19th among rebounders with an average of 5.7, and a rating of 14.4 to rank 15th among the top 50 in the overall list, according to the official site of the ACB League.
