HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 11 (acn) With another excellent work in the eighth frame, Cuban reliever Livan Moinelo was a key piece today in the 8-7 home victory of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks over the ORIX Buffaloes, in the 2020 Japanese professional baseball (NPB) season.
The lefty setupper struck out a batter and gave away a walk to reduce his ERA to 1.96 and consolidate his lead in hold points in the Pacific League.
Among the Cuban players who play in the NPB without contracts sponsored by the national commission, starting pitcher Onelki Garcia stood out when achieving his first success of the year after only allowing a solo homer and three hits in seven innings in the 9-2 away win of the Hanshin Tigers over the Yokohama DeNA BayStars.

Finally, catcher Ariel Martinez, who also plays for the Dragons, confirmed via Facebook to the Cuban News Agency that he suffers from a sprain to the thumb of his left hand and should be out of the team's roster for a couple of weeks.
