HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 25 (acn) Cuban GM Carlos Daniel Albornoz will be part of the Team World that will face local players in the Accentus Young Masters 2020, to take place in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland from today to March 6.
Last year, the twice Cuban national champion also attended this contest and he ranked fifth with five points out of nine possible and balance of two wins, one loss and six draws.
Now, Albornoz (2566 ELO points) will share team with German GM Alexander Donchenko (2647), Russian GM Nikita Petrov (2592), Italian GM Sabino Brunello (2536) and Austrian GM Andreas Diermair (2476), according to the website www.chessbase.com.
The local side includes GM Noel Studer (2546), IM Fabian Banzinger (2412), IM Gabriel Gahwiler (2394), FM Aurelio Colmenares (2300) and FM Theo Stijve (2232).
The Accentus Young Masters 2020 will be a 10-round Schveningen system tournament.
