Cuban Workers Safe in Venezuela after US Attacks

Havana, Jan 5 (ACN) The Cuban workers in Venezuela are all safe and offering their services after the US attacks over the weekend, said Medical Brigade chief Doctor Yuleyvis Martinez.

The doctor told Cuban TV reporter Raul Rodriguez that all health workers are well protected as they keep their mission.

None of the Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDIs), Comprehensive Rehabilitation Wards and the people’s medical offices were damaged by the air strikes, which took place in the states of Miranda, La Guaira, the Capital District and Aragua. The rest of the country keeps in normality, Martinez noted.

The executive highlighted the brigade’s discipline, noting that it strictly complied with the established safety protocols, which made it possible to preserve the professionals’ integrity and ensure the continuity of medical care.

According to the head of the mission, most brigade members have kept in contact with their families in Cuba, conveying reassurance and confirming that they are protected.

Authorities from Cuba’s Ministry of Public Health held direct exchanges with the professionals in Venezuela, which helped raise morale and ensure confidence in the fulfillment of the mission.

The Cuban medical brigade, present in all 24 states of the South American country, reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the Venezuelan people in public health efforts.lc
