1rst National Congress on Heart Failure to conclude today in Havana

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 11 (ACN) After days of conferences and debates on prevention and updating medical care protocols for patients with heart failure, the 1rst National Congress on Heart Failure and its Risk Factors will conclude this afternoon at the Meliá Cohiba Hotel in Havana.

The event, which began on Thursday, will feature a morning session dedicated to the current mortality scenario for this condition, nutrition, pharmacological treatments, and surgical alternatives.

National and international experts will discuss the use of AI and morning high blood pressure to diagnose this condition.

Caridad Chao Pereira, president of the Organizing Committee, told the Cuban News Agency that this event has allowed the organization to update knowledge and learn about new advances in diagnosis, such as the use of cardiac biomarkers, a technology that allows for a more accurate prognosis of the disease.

She highlighted new pillars in the treatment of heart failure that prevent patients from progressing to more advanced stages and improve their quality of life.

This 1rst National Congress on Heart Failure brought together physicians from different specialties such as Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Anesthesiology, researchers, and health authorities to promote, from a transdisciplinary approach, the comprehensive management of one of the leading causes of mortality in the country and around the world.
