HAVANA, Cuba, July 11 (ACN) The 23rd Meeting of Heads of Medical Missions Abroad concluded at the Central Medical Cooperation Unit after several meetings to improve the work of health personnel in other countries and expand international collaboration.
According to the program for the meeting, which began on Monday, the Yearbook of Cuban Medical Cooperation for 2024 will be presented, as is traditional each year.
The heads of the medical missions and provincial and municipal executives will meet with Yuniasky Crespo Baquero, head of the Department of Attention to the Social Sector of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Dr. Jose Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health.
During the previous days, those attending the meeting received a keynote lecture by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Cuba's foreign policy in the face of the US government's campaigns to discredit the Cuban medical mission, and a presentation on political and ideological subversion.
They also discussed the development of academic training and professional development abroad, international health oversight, internal affairs, Cuban medical services, and social communication. They also visited health and scientific institutions, as well as historical and cultural sites.
