Havana, July 9 (ACN) Latin America and the Caribbean have reported 235 Yellow Fever cases with a 41 percent lethality, according to Costa Rica’s Health Office, based on data of the Pan-American Health Organization.
Most affected countries are Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, whose authorities are reporting active outbreaks, according to the Guatemalan center.
A current high demand for the yellow fever vaccine has reportedly put significant pressure on global vaccine producers because the antidote is requested not only by Latin American countries, but also by African and Asian nations where Yellow Fever is an endemic disease, PL wire services reported.lc
