HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 14 (ACN) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) highlighted the contribution of psychology professionals, as it hailed the commemoration of this anniversary in the country.
On X, the Minsap wrote: "On Psychology Day, we recognize the contributions of those who dedicate their lives to this noble profession.
"We thank those who, from our sector, show the visible impact of the discipline on the quality of life and well-being of Cubans."
Psychology Day in Cuba was instituted on April 13, 2004, in honor of the date of birth of the pedagogue Enrique Jose Varona (1849-1933) in the village of Santa Maria del Puerto del Principe, today's Camaguey.
Varona was the author of an extraordinary work in philosophy, sociology, psychology and education, which is why he is considered one of the great Latin American thinkers.
