Havana, Feb 18 (ACN) Mexico’s President Claudia Sheimbaum said on Tuesday that his country is opening doors to doctors from Cuba and other nations to occupy vacancies while training its own medical specialists.
In her usual morning press briefing, Sheinbaum recalled that during the so-called neoliberal period in Mexico medical doctors were banned for years to become specialists in what she called an “absurd idea” that blocking registration would lead to have par-excellence students.
And then you get to the point when you see that Mexico needs more hospitals and healthcare centers but this requires more doctors, said the President.
While we form our own medical specialist, we receive doctors from other nationalities who want to come, including the Cuban doctors, Sheinbaum noted and replied to a question by a journalist by saying that the Cuban doctors are working in several Mexican territories.
