Havana, Feb 11 (ACN) The Medical University in the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus graduated 625 new health professionals, which takes the number of graduates at the local institution to some 19 thousand, including over 1.200 from other nations.
The diploma handing in ceremony took place Tuesday at the local Revolution Square, where medical faculty dean Claudia Silva said that the graduates are doctors, dentists, nurses, clinical bio-analysts and other professionals. All count on a wide performance profile, which helps contribute to the improvement of the health of the people, she said.
A graduate from the Republic of Congo, Jordy Laurel stressed the commitment entailed by his medical doctor diploma in the international and social context; he expressed his gratefulness to Cuba and Commander Fidel Castro, who always thought of a better world and founded the Latin American School of Medicine.
