Havana, Feb 5 (ACN) A donation by Japanese activists, which included power generators, rechargeable led lamps, medications and toys was handed over to three Havana healthcare institutions.
The donation expects to help healthcare centers amidst a complex power generation scenario on the island, where vital medical services are guaranteed.
During the donation hand in ceremony at Havana’s Juan Manuel Marquez pediatric hospital, Japanese citizen Ken Matsumura said that this is his 11th visit here, and every time he comes he feels increasingly attracted by the local culture, traditions and warmth of the Cuban people.
He said the Japanese gesture is in tune with a commitment to help Cuba overcome the economic crisis caused by the unilateral and coercive US measures.
Hospital vice-director Carolina Herrera said that the Japanese donation will help guarantee medical assistance to children suffering from oncological conditions, who will also have toys for their own recreation.
