HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 14 (ACN) The Association of Syrian Graduates in Cuban Universities reaffirmed today the historic friendship between the people of Syria and Cuba.
As highlighted Tuesday by the Cuban foreign ministry on its website, through a statement the Syrian group considered that these ties will not be affected by the circumstances and situations since they are based on strong foundations of friendship, solidarity and affection, the statement reads.
These ties have remained strong despite the war that has ravaged Syria since 2011 and we hope that the new stage that Syria is living since December 8, 2024 will lead to boost these relations, and we will work from our positions to improve them in all fields for the good of our two nations, the professionals indicated.
With the text they sent greetings to the Cuban people and government on the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and reiterated the rejection of the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
Let us not forget in these circumstances to reaffirm our solidarity with our Palestinian brothers who continue suffering from the Israeli genocide in Gaza, and we reject the Zionist aggressions against the Syrian territory, the statement concluded.
