HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 5 (ACN) In a post on X, Political Bureau member and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Family Doctor and Nurse Program on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of its creation at the initiative of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, Leader of the Cuban Revolution.
In his message, Marrero Cruz referred to the Program as a major pillar of the National Health System.
On his end, Minister of Public Health José Ángel Portal Miranda thanked all family doctors and nurses for their devotion to protecting the Cuban people’s health.
Intended to provide medical care to all Cubans at community level, the Family Doctor and Nurse, one of the most comprehensive health programs implemented in Cuba, was launched on January 4, 1984 by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
