HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 10 (ACN) A group of Cuban health professionals arrived today in Dominica to join the health brigade already providing services in that small Caribbean island.
According to Prensa Latina, local television reported that the delegation includes specialists in ICU, general medicine, neonatology, obstetrics, radiography, laboratory, electromedicine and nursing.
Cassanni Laville, Minister of Health of Dominica, upon receiving the doctors and technicians, recalled the more than 20 years of health cooperation and acknowledged the solidarity of the Cuban professionals and their commitment to help other nations.
On behalf of the brigade members, Dr. Mirce Ayala ratified the will to offer a quality service and dedication to the people of Dominica and thanked them for the hospitality received, which she valued as a sign of the friendship existing between both nations.
For Dominica, Cuba's medical collaboration began in the 1990s and since then about 130 young people have graduated from universities in Cuba.
