Havana, Sept 4 (ACN) Cuba’s epidemiology director offered an update on the spread of Dengue Fever and Oropouche virus in Cuba, currently affecting most of the national territory.
Suspicious Dengue cases have been detected in 41 municipalities, while Oropouche cases have been registered in 99 localities.
Up to date no deaths or serious cases have been reported, the doctor said and added that the largest increase in suspicious Oropouche cases was detected in the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Artemisa, Havana, Sancti Spiritus and in the Isle of Youth.
The doctor stressed the need for sanitation actions and cleaning mosquito breading sites, as the major ways to prevent and control the vector.
