New Graduates Reinforce Cuban Free and Universal Healthcare System



Havana, Aug 7 (ACN) Over 450 new graduates from Nursing and Health Technologies got their diplomas at Havana’s Medical School as a necessary force to strengthen the island’s free and universal public health system.

These new graduates will be at the forefront of efforts to guarantee the welfare of the people, as they will keep improving their professional skills as part of current Health programs aimed at increasing their qualification and scientific level, said Arahi Sixto, Medical School Dean.

The official said that Havana counts on 82 healthcare centers, over 1000 family community offices, 34 hospitals and 11 teaching centers dedicated to form new health specialists.

Nursing graduate Yosvani Pimienta said that he has made his early childhood dream come true to become a nurse. He said his is one of the nicest professions for any human being because he now has in his hands the chance to save lives, with pride, preparation and devotion.
