Cuban and Russian Scientists Consider Cooperation Links



Havana, April 2 (ACN) Cuban deputy Minster of Science, Technology and the Environment, Armando Rodriguez, is heading a delegation of scientists to Russia, where they have met with their local colleagues on different projects and cooperation prospects.

The Cuban visitors toured the Biotech Lab at the Sirius University in the locality of Sochi, where both sides signed a Memo of Understanding and expect to consider joint projects between the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment and the Russian Academy of Science.

The island’s delegation, which includes several companies like the Agency of Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technology, also exchanged with entrepreneurs in the scientific field.

In talks with directives from the state-run Rosatom company, one of the world’s largest nuclear energy industries, the Cubans considered opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

They also visited the Atomex2024 fair to found out information about an industrial park for the treatment of hazardous wastes, which is on the RosatomGlobal exhibit.

During sessions of the Cuba-Russia Committee for Nuclear Collaboration with peaceful aims, the delegation exposed the incentives and opportunities to invest in Cuba.
