MATANZAS, Cuba, Dec 28 (ACN) During a visit to a medical facilities in this city together with Susely Morfa González, first secretary of the Communist Party in the province, and Governor Mario Sabines Lorenzo, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz insisted on the need to provide quality services, streamline the programs designed for the elderly, and protect the benefits and humanist nature of the existing system.
To his questions about possible steps to improve the indicators of the Mother and Child Care Program (PAMI) and of the treatment of infertile couples in the province, Yamira López García, provincial director of Public Health, replied that the proper plans have been designed to that end.
“The COVID-19 pandemic taught us to work closer to and engage better with families,” she said. “Likewise, we will strive to reduce the number of preterm births and teenage pregnancies, as well as to boost the province’s birthrate.”
The Prime Minister also visited a local neighborhood where urban planning works are under way for the benefit of people’s quality of life.
