HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 26 (ACN) Through the joint venture MCV Comercial S.A., Cuba purchased a batch of 99 ambulances to be used mostly to provide emergency medical services, as well as to transport patients to treatment facilities.
Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, and Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transport, received the vehicles in Havana and learned about the after-sales service plans that MCV Comercial S.A. has in place.
The purchase of this first batch, worth four million dollars paid entirely by the Cuban State, is part of a program designed to improve the quality of health care in the country at a time when the said service is quite depressed, according to Rodríguez Dávila.
