HAVANA, Cuba, May 24 (ACN) José Ángel Portal and Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, Ministers of Health of Cuba and Malawi, respectively, met today in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss the beginning of medical cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Portal, who is attending the 76th World Health Assembly, reported that they agreed to draw up a memorandum of understanding to that end. He has held similar meetings with health authorities from Qatar, Iran, Syria, Venezuela and Egypt.
Throughout 60 years of medical cooperation, Cuban professionals have offered their services in 165 countries. Nowadays, more than 22,000 of them are members of 57 medical brigades.
