Havana hosts international colloquium on standardization and impact post Covid-19



HAVANA, Cuba, May 17 (ACN) An international colloquium on the application of standardization during the COVID-19 pandemic and afterwards, brings together today in Havana, in person and virtually, professionals from Brazil, Cuba and Chile.

The National Standards Office (ONN by its Spanish acronym) informed that Jose I. Alcorta Menendez, Director of Standards Development of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), will intervene online at the meeting.

Eduardo Ceballos Osorio, head of the Accreditation Division of the Chilean Standards Institute, and his colleague Mario William Esper, president of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, will also speak.

The sessions of the event will be held at the Information Technology and Advanced Telematic Services Company (CITMATEL), one of the nation's high-tech companies, according to the same source.

Norma Hylton Bermudez, director of the ONN specialty, will speak on behalf of her group in the exchange of experiences of the participants.

Today's meeting is part of the action plan of the National Standardization Office to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Cuban Institute of Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control, on May 8, 1973, when its activities were institutionalized for the first time in the country.
