HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (ACN) Cuban public health minister Jose Angel Portal Miranda reiterated today his country's commitment to continue working to ensure affordable and quality health care to all people equally.
On the occasion of the celebration of Universal Health Coverage Day on December 12, the minister said on Twitter that in Cuba, the daily challenge is to always protect health and life.
Public health as a right of the Cuban people is ratified in the draft bill of that sector, presented on Sunday during a session prior to the 10th ordinary session of the 9th Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament).
Portal Miranda explained at the meeting that the new regulation, made up of four titles, defends constitutional guarantees for people and introduces ethics and values as part of the training and exercise of the profession.
The document proposes the concept of health care, protection and recovery services, updates the organization and obligations of the State and the Government to guarantee the operation of accessible, free and quality services, and includes the duties of users.
