HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 28 (ACN) The Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC) mourned the death of eminent Cuban scientist Olivia Miranda Francisco, one of the members of Merit of the institution.

Graduated in Hispanic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana in 1974, she defended her PhD in Philosophical Sciences in 1986, and worked as a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, it added.
She excelled as an expert in Cuban thought and its connection with Marxism, with the national revolutionary traditions and with Latin American Marxism, the obituary continued.
The members of the Academy, of the Social Sciences Section, deeply saddened by her death, extend their condolences to her family, friends and comrades in struggle, the ACC statement read.
