Cuba and Belarus to strengthen relations in the field of health

 


HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) A delegation from the Ministry of Public Health of Belarus visited Havana’s Capitol Building, seat of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), where they were received by Dr. Cristina Luna Morales, chair of the Assembly's Health and Sports Commission.
 
Also joining them was Marta Hernández Romero, vice president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Belarus, who ratified that both legislative bodies have the potential to strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to the agreements between both governments in different fields.
 
The Belarusian delegation thanked the Cuban officials for the opportunity to approach issues of common interest, especially regarding health care, and highlighted the success of the Cuban vaccines in their country and their assurance that both legislative bodies have reached higher levels of relations.
 
"We are convinced of the need to keep our collaboration in this field (…) and we would like us to consider the establishment of a sub-commission for Health within the framework of the intergovernmental commission with a view to having more systematic exchanges in this field," the visitors remarked.
