HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) José Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban minister of public health, celebrated today the Day of the Cuban pharmaceutical worker, a date that commemorates the birth of Antonio Guiteras Holmes (1906-1935), one of the first professionals in that branch in the country.
The minister, who is on an official visit to Egypt, congratulated onTwitter all the workers of the pharmaceutical services and acknowledged the work they carry out in health institutions.
The Pedro Kouri Institute of Tropical Medicine, the Finlay Vaccine Institute and the business group of the Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industry also sent congratulations for this day on the same social network.
Since 2000, the country has been commemorating this day on the initiative of the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Optics and the Cuban Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to pay tribute to those who are dedicated to this work.
