Havana, Oct 19 (ACN) Cuban Minister of Science, Technology and the Environment Elba Rosa Perez participated at the meeting of scientific authorities with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), underway in Argentina.
The Cuban official presented an update of local policies and initiatives to renew the role and commitment of scientific solidarity.
The minister, who heads the Cuban delegation to the meeting, said that Cuba made its achievements amidst the conditions imposed by the US economic, commercial and financial blockade which hinders the development of science and the wellbeing of the people.
As part of her working agenda in Argentina, the Cuban official met with Daniel Filmus and Juan Cabandie, local ministers of Science, technology and Innovation, and Environment-Sustainable Development respectfully.
The two sides agreed to expand cooperation and exchange between the Cuban and Argentinean ministries. The member of the Cuban delegation also attended the inauguration of the new National Archives of Genetic Data in Argentina, which encompasses over 35 years of study research and scientific advancement.
